AIMS:
Assist UK is the National Network for advice on Independent Living Equipment.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE:
Assist UK leads a UK wide network of locally-situated Disabled Living Centres. Most centres include a permanent exhibition of products and equipment that provide people with opportunities to see and try products and equipment and get free and impartial information and advice from professional staff about what might suit them best.
Assist UK also offer training courses linked to services provided by members.

There are five disabled living centres in Scotland providing specialist information on aids and equipment as well as other disability related enquiries.

Princess Royal Trust Dundee Carers Centre



Provide direct services to carers and disabled people

AIMS:
- To provide direct services to carers and disabled people
- To provide information and support as the Dundee Direct Payments Support Service and Angus Direct Payments Support Service.

SERVICES PROVIDED:
- Information service which provides information on topics such as holidays, respite care, equipment and disability and caring issues
- Welfare right service which provides help with benefit information, claims and appeals
- Outreach service which takes the services out into the community, working specifically with social work and health care staff to identify carers and to ensure that they receive the support they require
- Manage Young Carers Partnership Dundee, which provides information and support to young carers and works with statutory and voluntary organisations to raise awareness of young carers issues.
