Miriam Margolyes to make BBC Radio 4 Charity Appeal on behalf of DLF

As you may know, this year sees the start of the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF’s) 40th Anniversary.

To celebrate the difference the charity has made to millions of people over the last 40 years, award-winning actress Miriam Margolyes, best known for her roles in The Age of Innocence and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, will be making a special BBC Radio 4 Charity Appeal on behalf of the DLF on Sunday 4th October at 7.55am and 9.26pm and on Thursday 8th October at 3.27pm (FM 92.4-94.6 and LW 198).

We are delighted that Miriam has found time in her hectic schedule to talk about DLF’s work and to make this special appeal. Miriam says,

“When my mother had a stroke in 1968, I didn’t know how to help her, or even how to begin to find out. The Disabled Living Foundation exists to fill that gap and I want people to know about it, what it does and how much better people’s lives can be if they use the knowledge and experience available free from DLF. I hope the appeal I make will draw attention to their wonderful work.”

We hope that all our friends and supporters will listen in. If you miss it, you can also find it from Sunday 4th October on the Radio 4 website (www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/appeal).

After the appeal has been broadcast, listeners can make donations by calling Freephone 0800 404 8144 or by credit card via the Radio 4 website for one week only from 4th October. Donations can also be sent after the broadcast to FREEPOST BBC Radio 4 Appeal (please mark the back of your envelope ‘Disabled Living Foundation’) or by using the enclosed donation form.

Please tune in and support us!
