Scotland’s Premier Homecare, Disability & Rehabilitation Exhibition Returns to Glasgow in September
Following the highly successful and best attended Naidex show to date, event organisers Emap Connet are delighted to announce that Independent Living Scotland is returning to the SECC in Glasgow on 9th – 10th September 2009. This highly anticipated biannual event is Scotland’s premier homecare, disability and rehabilitation exhibition and attracts over 3,000 visitors.
Independent Living Scotland is free to attend and visitors can register online for free entry to the exhibition at www.ils-event.co.uk The event will showcase the best in independent living and mobility aids from over 120 exhibitors and promises to be a rich and rewarding experience for members of the public, trade and healthcare professionals alike. The show provides a unique opportunity to test and compare all the latest products and equipment that can make a real difference to everyday independent living.
Special features at the show include the Lifestyle Seminar and Demonstration Zone where visitors will be able to see the products in action and attend free informative sessions. These will be complimented by The Health & Wellbeing Zone and demonstrations by The Yoga, Health and Therapy Centre Scotland who will be running yoga sessions for adults, children and therapists. The Centre provides yoga therapy for children and adults with any physical, medical, learning or other additional support needs as well as outreach services. Scotland’s leading charities and organisations will also be hand to offer information and guidance on independent living in Scotland.
The show also presents a wealth of career benefits for all healthcare professionals. Not only will they be able to get acquainted with the latest products on offer, they will also have the opportunity to enhance their professional development and add to their portfolio by attending the free CPD seminars. This year’s seminar programme is being put together by Kate Sheehan, a leading independent occupational therapist accredited for the highly popular and successful CPD seminar programme at Naidex ’09. Kate has been practicing as an OT for 20 years and has spent the last four years working in the commercial sector, whilst still carrying out one off cases for Local Authorities. The College of Occupational Therapists will also be present at the show to offer advice and support.
For trade professionals, Independent Living Scotland presents a unique and essential networking opportunity for sourcing new suppliers, as well as the ideal venue to meet with new and existing customers.
